Visual Unity Redesign
The goal of this assignment was to redesign an image that lacked visual unity. The original image contained a triangle with a red/purple gradient fill and rounded multi-colored rectangles that contained text. The triangle and the text lacked coherence. As designed, the image did not communicate how the triangle and text were related nor that the text items were sequential in nature.
When designing the new slide, I wanted to illustrate the recruitment process in one unified graphic. Because of the professional nature of the graphic, a subdued color palette was chosen for the the redesigned graphic. Rounded rectangles that decreased in size were used to represent an inverted triangle and to reflect the fewer number of candidates that would be on the eligibility list in comparison to the those who responded to the original job posting. A dark to light color gradient was used to differentiate each step and arrows were inserted between the steps to indicate that each step represented a sequential process. The title 'Recruitment Process' was enclosed in two horizontal lines to set it aside from the process content.
