Color Redesign
The goal of this assignment was to redesign an image that utilized poor color choices. The colors chosen for the original image were conflicting and distracting. The colors choices in the original document make it difficult to comprehend the information provided in the flyer. The eye of the viewer is drawn in multiple directions and the viewer can not easily determine which information is most important.
When designing the new flyer, I wanted a foundation for the color choices that would result in a cohesive and comprehensible image. There were two logos in the original flyer that I used as the inspiration for my color choices. The logos in the original flyer were poor in quality and could not be effectively reproduced, so I found the same logos through an Internet search that only varied in coloring. Three primary colors from the logos were used in the new image: yellow, red, blue and black.
Red, blue and yellow are all primary colors. The colors in the new flyer are not conflicting and do not detract from the information on the flyer. The color choices allow the viewer to comprehend the information provided in the flyer.
