Typography Redesign
The goal of this assignment was to redesign an image that utilized poor choices in typography The fonts and styles chosen for the original image were conflicting and distracting. The multiple fonts and font sizes utilized in the original document make it difficult to comprehend the information provided in the flyer. The fonts chosen make it difficult for the viewer to determine what information is important and to easily and quickly locate specific information.
When designing the new flyer, I used the two logos in the original flyer as the foundation for my choices. The logos in the original flyer used a sans serif font, so I chose a sans serif font that would stand out to viewers. I chose the Eras family of fonts for all text in the document. Several variations of this font are used throughout the flyer to create consistency, while also allowing for some variety.
The typography in the after image is uniform in type and size. As a result, important information is easy to identify and the viewer is not fatigued when viewing the image.
